Role purpose

Being a Hunter Sales position, the purpose of this role is to deliver a regular stream of new customer relationships to the client


Key accountabilities


  • Deliver a targeted level of new business to the client monthly, measured both by number of new logos (customers) and Annual Contract Value (ACV)
  • Maintain specified monthly pipeline coverage ratios, generally set at 4x (4 times) monthly target
  • Maintain expected level of face-to-face customer engagement, generally set at a minimum of 6 face-to-face customer visits per week
  • Establish and maintain in depth knowledge of and proficiency with the full portfolio of products and services sold by the clients Capital Markets (network including lease lines and extranet, metro services, colocation/hosting, managed services, etc.) as well as targeted customers and the market overall





Other accountabilities (optional)

  • Keeping management apprised promptly of the status of opportunities and customers via crm and other internal tools and workflow
  • Some level of account management (management of existing customer relationships) can and should be expected


Key performance indicators (financial and non-financial)


  • Monthly ACV target (determined by starting grade, market covered, etc.)
  • Number of new logos closed (minimum expectation 1/month)
  • 6 face-to-face customer visits per week


Relationships and key contacts


Existing network of local contacts – especially at decision-making levels within their firms – strongly preferred but not required


Role specific requirements

Skills & Experience

  • Sales background and proof of selling successfully (meeting targets) in previous sales role(s) required
  • Demonstrated experience and comfort selling to C-level contacts (as well as all other ranges and types of contacts in customer organizations)


  • Knowledge of Capital Markets strongly preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of networks (lease lines, extranet, metro networks, etc.) strongly preferred but not required


  • Self-starter required, able to self-motivate and engage with little direct supervision ; yet open, welcoming, and able to internalize feedback when offered
  • Flexible and open to working within an organization that is still growing and quite dynamic; welcoming and embracing of change
  • Customer-focused and willing to champion and to go the extra mile on behalf of customers
  • Diligent always and detail-oriented when necessary
  • Friendly and likeable, vis-à-vis both customers and internal
  • Strong desire and drive to challenge the market
