Country Head of Consulting – South East Asia


Mission / Purpose

The mission of this role is to enable the pull-through of the clients Product and Services through the delivery of consulting services, own demand generation for new-to-market Industries Solutions portfolio enabled out of the UK, and execution of local AMEA strategy projects. In consultation with the Head of Consulting, the market unit, and the sales team, the Consultant will:

  • Support the Country Head of Consulting and the local market unit sales teams to develop go-to-market plans and engage directly with existing and potential new clients at the Executive Level to position their Consulting capability – including both proposal development, customer pre-sale capability presentation, task / project plan / pricing, scoping, and closure of SOW’s to ensure that billable utilisation targets are met;
  • As an industry or domain expert in Infrastructure Architecture plus one or more fields: Application architecture / infrastructure dependency mapping, NFV / SDN / SDDC, Information Security, Unified Communications, IoT and IT/OT, or other relevant technology domain areas.
  • Be able to lead a current state assessment on a client’s infrastructure environment, identify and articulate latent problems discovered, and develop a case for change;
  • Be an expert in data, pattern, correlation, matching, and analysis through a variety of tools;
  • Be able to architecture, articulate, and empirically prove the value of the proposed your future;
  • Leverage and iteratively improve the Intellectual Property of the knowledge pool, delivery best practices, and own quality peer review within your expertise domain to ensure customer satisfaction;
  • Lead delivery of Consulting projects, either as an individual contributor, or with a small project team to ensure that consulting projects are delivered profitably;
  • Role will require some international or domestic travel commensurate with business development and project delivery;
  • Work with the AMEA sales leadership to develop, cultivate, and grow their ICV pipeline by acquiring new customers through value Consulting; and
  • Within your Industry or domain expertise, provide mentoring and leadership during project delivery to upskill and develop the Consulting Practice.

Role Responsbility and Expected Performance

This is a senior leadership role within the business and its primary responsibility is to drive incremental business growth through a Consulting lead approach. The secondary goal of this role is to help the Industries portfolio and AMEA Strategy teams lead generate for new product and services within AMEA through the delivery of consulting services 

Key Accountabilities

Engage and partner with clients at an executive level to develop strategic alliances and sell consulting engagements that facilitate progression towards or closure of a large and longer term contract.

Drive revenue growth through identification and business development of consulting opportunities with existing clients

Work with the client to understand their business requirements, identify opportunities aligned with requirements where billable consulting work would provide benefit to the client (sell and deliver)

Co-creation and closure of a costed Consulting proposal to the market unit agreed customer

Refocus clients on their core business, thus positioning cost effectiveness and value add of the portfolio and / or  professional services to supplement internal processes, resources, and solutions within the client’s business

ICV pull through of  product and services as approved by the Country Manager

Actively manages the profitability of consulting opportunities and project delivery for the region or territory

Through the closure of consultancy engagements delivering revenue against the Consulting product code within assigned territory or industry segment


Ensures that profitable project delivery is maintained through resource selection and budget per the project scope tool is maintained

Encourages others to use and add to the knowledge base and manages the process of knowledge capital creation via the consultants

Knowledge transfer to less experienced staff through contributions to Professional Services Consulting knowledge base (white papers, case studies, templates, etc.) and through continued professional learning

Supervises client satisfaction regarding work achieved by the individual or team(s)

Team development and quality control

Education, Qualifications, and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, or relevant technical field required
  • MSCS, MSEE, or MBA
  • Demonstrable practical knowledge in the field of consulting methods, frameworks, and approaches
  • Certifications in area of expertise


Career Experience

  • Minimum 10 years related work experience in customer facing organisations within the telecom, IT industry, or equivalent (military services, etc.)
  • Proven track record in selling high dollar value consulting services in a leadership role (5 or more years’ experience or equivalent)
  • Strong background in business consulting, process analysis design and improvement, cloud, application, and data centre strategy, digital transformation, and development of technology based business solutions
